Smoothies are one of the best secret weapons a caregiver can have in their culinary tool belt. They can be loaded with nutrition, can be served any time of the day, are pretty difficult to mess up and typically taste great!
This strawberry banana smoothie contains all five food groups: fruits, vegetables, whole grains, protein and dairy. Smoothies don’t have to contain all five food groups, but at best, it’s ideal if some kind of vegetable is included to boost nutrition. This is typically an easy task to achieve as long as you choose a mild flavored vegetable like spinach and cauliflower, or even a sweet vegetable like carrots.
