What are the different types of dementia and how can they interfere with Parkinson’s disease?
Seniors and caregivers can find answers to these questions and more during an upcoming Parkinson’s Foundation webinar, “Let’s Talk About Dementia.” The expert briefing will take place virtually on Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. EDT.
Dr. James Leverenz, MD, who works with the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, will serve as the guest speaker at the webinar. Leverenz has a specialty in Parkinson’s disease dementia, is board-certified in neurology and has been in practice for more than 20 years.
While Parkinson’s disease is usually associated with movement, many older adults living with it can have regular interruptions in thinking, memory, attention and language commonly seen with dementia. The webinar will explore in more detail the variations in dementia and how to manage it when it occurs together with Parkinson’s.
Admission for the event is free, and it’s open for virtual registration now. Participants will receive an email link to the webinar one week prior to the event, as well as a reminder one day ahead and another two hours before the webinar starts.
