That idea evolved into a business venture, and now they’re making Silver Swag Boxes for people all over the country who can’t see their elderly loved ones as often as they’d like. Each box contains up to nine items, including something useful (such as a magnifying glass), something to stay mentally sharp (like a scrambled letters game), something for staying comfortable (like socks), and snacks (like delicious Hershey Kisses). There’s a different theme each month based on the season or holiday, with past themes including “Gnome for the Holidays” featuring hot cocoa bombs, potato soup mix, and a porcelain bowl donning adorable gnomes; a de-stressing box called “Relax, Refresh, and Recharge” complete with pampering products; and a “Game On” box with board games, card games, and pub snack mix. When ordering, customers can select dietary restrictions such as Diabetic (sugar free), gluten free, lactose free, low sodium, and caffeine free. Most boxes are unisex and can appeal to all gender identities.
