Senior living facilities nationwide earned several awards recently, celebrating their dedication to wellness this year.
The International Council on Active Aging, an association that provides education about the active-aging industry, and NuStep, an exercise brand, recently recognized senior living facilities and other communities across the country whose residents, members, clients and staff prioritize a healthy lifestyle.
ICAA and NuStep recognized 20 communities in North America for their Beacon Award, which recognizes the “Best in Wellness.” Of those 20, the top five are selected as winners of the Pinnacle Award for “extraordinary achievements”:
- Splendido At Rancho Vistoso (Tucson, Arizona)
- John Knox Village of Florida (Pompano Beach, Florida)
- Maravilla Santa Barbara (Santa Barbara, California)
- Moorings Park Grande Lake (Naples, Florida)
- Meadowood Senior Living (Worcester, Pennsylvania)
“As wellness has continued to grow in the active-aging industry, we are delighted to provide even more opportunities for organizations and executives to be honored for their influence and impact,” Colin Milner, ICAA founder and CEO, wrote. “With the ongoing shift to wellness-based models, all of these distinguished award winners serve as shining examples that are leading the way.”
Along with senior centers, ICAA and NuStep also awarded parks and recreation facilities, adult day services and wellness CEOs.
