“The perfect blend of Oprah motivation on wellness and spirituality and the inspirational fun of the HGTV shows.”
It’s just one listener’s opinion, but podcast creator Sherri Snelling is hoping others will feel the same—and that her unique approach to caregiver wellness and support will resonate.
“I’ll take it—that is my mission!” she said. “If a caregiver takes a bubble bath while listening or sits in a garden or by a cozy fireplace or even takes a walk and listens via earbuds, my mission of helping caregivers get a break will be accomplished.”
The new podcast – called “Caregiving Club On Air” – launched Nov. 1 and promises to deliver a balanced diet of latest news headlines, interviews with celebrity guests, a “mindfulness break,” and the “Me Time Monday Wellness Hack,” a wellness exercise for stress relief. The premier episode featured a conversation with Joan Lunden, TV host and author, who discusses her own caregiving experience, along with the topics of women and aging.
“I hope the podcast becomes a source of comfort so caregivers know they are not alone, a place for wellness tips that are easy for caregivers to embrace and a place to think about themselves,” Snelling said. “I also hope it becomes another source for information that is about lifestyle and not just about navigating the health care system. Other podcasts and resources do that well, so what I am adding is the more positive side of caregiving, the wellness movement for caregivers, and interesting home design and modification ideas.”
Snelling said she feels the podcast format is valuable for caregivers, who often are forced to multitask and don’t always have time to sit down and read an article or blog.

“That was my ‘a ha’ moment,” she said. “If I can deliver my written information in a digital listening environment—why not? I am all about helping caregivers with information and tips, and I want to give it to them in whatever format or way they need it. A podcast became a natural extension of what I already do. And if you ask my family or friends, I love to talk and share ideas, so what better outlet than a podcast?”
Snelling hopes to cover a lot of ground in future episodes, including financial planning for families, brain health, the value of humor, shopping tips for caregivers, and a slew of recognizable guests. While she acknowledges she’s entering a crowded podcast landscape, she thinks she’s found an area that’s not currently covered—and one that could be valuable to caregivers.
“I did some research and recognized I could add value because my focus is on caregiver wellness, which includes well-home design to make our environments support our health and happiness for a lifetime,” she said. “These topics in caregiving are unique and offer listeners something beyond what they were currently getting.”
In addition to serving as the host, Snelling is also an author and corporate gerontologist, as well as founder and CEO of Caregiving Club, a strategic consulting and content creation company with an expertise in caregiver wellness and well-home design for employers, entrepreneurs and home design industry clients. She’s the author of “A Cast of Caregivers – Celebrity Stories to Help You Prepare to Care,” available now, and will soon publish two more: “Me Time Monday – Weekly Wellness for a Wonderful Caregiving Life” and “The Snug Home – A Family Caregiver Guide to Well Home Design.”
