Parkinson’s disease affects both the person living with it and their family and friends in very personal and unique ways. Even the difference in response from men vs. women can be dramatic.
To address these discrepancies and educate all caregivers how best to care for someone living with Parkinson’s, the Parkinson’s Foundation is offering a special “Male Care Partner Webinar” as part of its PD Health @ Home Wellness Wednesday series. The virtual program is free to attend and will be held Wednesday, June 15 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. EDT.
The Foundation describes the event as a “first-of-its-kind webinar for male care partners. This webinar is for those who want to understand more about how PD impacts male care partners differently than female care partners.”
The PD Health @ Home series is also presented by the Light of Day Foundation, which strives to use music as a way to raise awareness of the battle against Parkinson’s disease and its related illnesses. Founded in 2000, the organization started with a single concert and now includes more than 70 shows across 13 countries—raising more than $5.75 million since its inception.
The webinar will be presented over Zoom, and you can register online at the Parkinson’s Foundation website. To learn more, contact Crista Ellis at florida@parkinson.org at 830-253-0011.
Instructions to join the webinar will be provided to participants after the completion of the registration form.
