Arkadium Games, makers of popular mobile games such as Solitaire and Mahjong, announced a new subscription service. The new Arkadium Advantage service allows subscribers to play all of their favorite games on any platform ad-free.
Arkadium boasts a library of more than 100 games available online and through mobile apps. The new service offering allows game fans to enjoy the catalog without in-game ad interruptions and keep track of their plays across platforms. The service is $30 for a yearly subscription or $4 a month.
Arkadium is home to games such as Mahjong Dimensions, Jewel Shuffle, The Price is Right Plinko Pegs, Word Wipe and many crossword games. The library also includes suites of different versions of Solitaire and Mahjong games.
Gaming for seniors
The puzzle style games Arkadium makes are not only popular and entertaining for seniors but also promote cognitive ability. The company promotes its games as a way for seniors to stay sharp and exercise memory care.
Most gaming sites target a younger demographic, but Arkadium has found a niche in creating games that appeal to older players. The efforts haven’t gone unrewarded either: According to Gaming Lyfe, the company has more than six million monthly users and saw a 40% increase in gamers from 2018 to 2019.
Games like The Daily Jigsaw feature large print and picture images on bright screens and can be adapted for difficulty and number of pieces. It also has alerts for placing pieces correctly so the user can tell they are on the right track.
Arkadium also features licensed games such as Family Feud, which is created in the style of popular game show. It also has varieties of mobile versions of card games such as Bridge and Hearts.
Accessibility is a key feature for Arkadium, something other companies have lagged in when creating games.
Mobile gaming itself is a booming industry and accounts for 43% of all smartphone use, according to TechJury. It’s not just in the U.S. market that Arkadium has found its vital demographic either; mobile gaming has exploded in China, Japan and South Korea. (In fact, more than half the South Korean population plays mobile games.)
To create an Arkadium Advantage account, users should subscribe on the website. They then can login through their mobile apps or play directly in the browser on the gaming site.
The subscription service also allows gamers to create custom avatars and track their stats in games. The leaderboards in each game allow for more interactivity and challenge when playing.
Despite the new offering, the entire catalog of Arkadium games is still available for free for players with ads and can be found in mobile app stores and at arkadium.com.
